Maple Sugaring season is approaching. We are very busy preparing for the first run of the season. I will have photos soon. Till then...
Martha Stewart is holding a handmade cobweb broom and J.P. is holding one of our traditional brooms at the Martha Stewart studio in New York city. What a great show, almost a year ago this week.
Since our appearance on Martha Stewart T.V. our life has not been the same. We were always busy but we got busier! This has been a great boost for our farm. Several people that bought brooms, also ordered maple products and some even came here to cut there own Christmas tree! We still continue to get spin off business from the show.
The reason you are seeing this photo now, is because we just received it ourselves.
As the winter settles in, we are busy building our broom inventory, and also expanding our number of taps for the upcoming maple sugaring season.
We had a surprise visit from people who were renting our neighbors house for New Years week-end. They walked about a mile to our house. One of the visitors,Jonathan Blum, purchased a broom for his brownstone home in Brooklyn, NY. It was our first purchase in 2009! With broom in hand, he walked back.

Today we were busy moving sap tanks around and placing them in their spots to collect sap. Here is a picture of J.P. driving a tank to its correct location.
With the December 11th ice storm, we have also been busy repairing sap tubing and removing all the broken branches on the lines.
In January we will be occupied preparing for the 2009 sugaring season.
